On September 27, China Energy Chairman Wang Xiangxi met with visiting Australian Ambassador to China Graham Fletcher and his party in Beijing. Deputy CEO Li Dong attended the meeting.
Wang welcomed Ambassador Graham Fletcher and his entourage, and expressed appreciation to the Australian Embassy in China for the support it has provided to China Energy over the years. He then briefed the guests on the reform and development of China Energy. He pointed out that China Energy is committed to the clean and efficient use of traditional energy, while vigorously developing new and renewable energy. China Energy has maintained good cooperative relations with some Australian state governments and always attaches great importance to investment and cooperation in Australia, he added. The company hopes that the two sides will strengthen communication and deepen cooperation and promote the implementation of joint projects in Australia, in a bid to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results and bring benefits to both peoples.
Graham Fletcher said that Australia is blessed with natural resources including coal, and that it hopes to expand cooperation with China Energy in the field of energy development. As Australian Ambassador to China, he pledged to make efforts to create a more friendly and convenient investment environment for China Energy in Australia, and expected that based on existing cooperation, the two sides will actively seek opportunities for cooperation and expand areas of cooperation, so as to promote achievement of fruitful results in economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.
